Small technology companies frequently have challenges spanning the chiasm between research and the commercial success. This is
truly unfortunate as disruptive technologies, which could benefit society and lead to a highly successful business, are often
never realized. Aspen will quickly increase the exposure of small businesses, within economic development regions, to a national
and international level. This is done through a process of aligning small technology company core competencies, technologies,
products or services with the needs of government and private sector organizations.
Aspen will build a custom program, based upon regional economic development organizations' mission and objectives. Custom projects
can be built around targeted industry clusters or by individual high potential small businesses. This will maximize exposure to
potential clients, collaborators or partners. Aspen Pathfinder assists small technology companies commercialize technologies through
a suite of services:
- Conduct an initial assessment of the small, technology company's business
- Assess current status of target technologies and products in the company's portfolio
- Create a commercialization action plan to focus resources on the ultimate goal of commercial success
- Provide direct, hands-on support to guide the business through the Aspen Pathfinder process
- Assistance in finding SBIR/STTR matches aligning with small business strategic objectives and core competencies
